What’s Eway

The Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea assigned the contribution to the "Eway" project, which ranked 23rd out of 109 projects on a national scale, which provides for the creation of a network of car and fully electric scooter sharing, born in support of the "National experimental program of sustainable mobility home school and home work", combined with an action to spread and monitor the initiative.

The Eway project was born as an ideal continuation of the "100% Urban Green Mobility" program.

In the Garda area, about 30,000 people are involved in daily trips outside the municipality of residence for study and working reasons, including university students enrolled in the universities of Brescia,  and other provinces.

In fact, university enrollments registered in the province of Brescia exceed 10,000 people. In addition to these users, we should consider those who get to Garda Lake from other municipalities, commuting by train and other means of transport as well.

The project assessed the needs and peculiarities of the area, identifying possible interactions with the other existing forms of mobility and with the "100% urban green mobility" network for a sustainable mobility which is easily accessible and environmentally sustainable.

The memorandum of understanding shared between Garda Uno and the municipalities participating in "Eway" project constitutes the first step for the creation of a sustainable electric mobility network that can encompass the entire territory of Lake Garda.

EWAY - THE NUMBERS

13 municipalities involved: Lonato d / G, Manerba d / G, Moniga d / G, Padenghe s / G, Polpenazze d / G, Puegnago d / G, San Felice d / B, Salò, Sirmione, Soiano d / L, Calcinato , Peschiera d / G (VR) and Desenzano d / G, the latter in the role of leader.

4 car and scooter sharing stations located in strategic points for mobility and intermodality in the municipalities of: Desenzano d / G, Peschiera d / G (VR), Padenghe s / G and Salò.

15 full electric cars, each one with 300km of autonomy.

8 full electric scooters, each one with 100 km of autonomy.

16 22 kW three-phase charging columns.

15.360 km km per day potentially practicable with the entire fleet always in operation

Eway opened with a single event: on 27 June 2019 BEST started, the first tour of Lake Garda carried out entirely with electric cars in Sharing service.

Departure from Desenzano del Garda and travel around the lake with a stop in Salò, Limone, finishing the day in Peschiera del Garda.
